At every meeting, Lauren comes up with new ways of setting achievable goals. Lauren motivates you to look at the good in life and to take it one day at a time.
Our Philosophy
The philosophy of mind-body nutrition is at the core of our practice. We believe:
- A healthy body is self-regulating and self-healing
- Our mind and emotions have an impact on how our bodies function with regard to nutrition
- Who we are as eaters is just as important as what we eat
Habits and beliefs formed in childhood and adolescence are deep-rooted and difficult to change. It is in discovering and forming new roots that we become the person we’re meant to be, with a body that naturally comes more into balance.
New Roots Offers
Nutrition counseling and medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for individuals and families, ages 13 and up. New Roots specializes in nutrition counseling for clients struggling in any area on the continuum of disordered eating. More than anything, we are passionate about supporting all clients in improving their relationship with food, their body and joyful exercise, moving toward the goal of living life with an optimal mind-body connection.
It is difficult to find adequate words to describe the compassion, knowledge, and authenticity Lauren offers to her patients. For years, disordered eating had ruled every aspect of my life. After working with Lauren for a little over a year, I feel empowered, nourished, and healthy for the first time. She offers incredible nutrition guidance that is completely individual and sets her patients up for lifelong health.
